PIED-A-TERRE
Home

In the penthouse of a primary residential building in Malabar Hill, South Mumbai, a bedroom with a balcony was envisioned as a luxury pied-a-terre. A glass ceiling, large windows and retractable blinds were added to take in the balcony. Instantly the double height of the room was filled with spectacular natural light. A conservatory, with a dark green wall and fresh plants, a reading room, a private bar and dining area were created for the attached bedroom. Priceless original artworks from London were carefully curated to accentuate a British colonial theme, along with contemporary furniture pieces. The artwork on the large wall was hand painted by artists to capture a bustling seaside metropolitan city. With the changing hues of the sky, the room magically transforms all through the day, and lights up at night with a starry sky above and the glimmering lights of the city below.
